Jameela Jamil has said she'd love to follow in the footsteps of fellow Radio 1 DJ Nick Grimshaw and join a TV talent show.

Nick was announced as a new judge on The X Factor this year but it sounds as though Jameela is angling for a spot on The Voice UK.

The BBC series is in need of a new female coach after Rita Ora quit to join Nick on The X Factor.

"It's definitely something I would be been interested in if the right show came along - I love nurturing young talent and I think it's really fun to find new talent," Jameela told BANG! Showbiz this week.

She went on to say: "I think a lot of people in the music industry are often more style over substance and what I would love to be a part of, is finding people who can really, really sing.

"Finding people who can really grow, and create real musicians again like the old days, not like some of popstars today who just got naked and just do anything in order to sell singles."

Jameela added: "I would want people who really have the chop, I think that's what would be really exciting about being a judge of one of those shows."

Paloma Faith and FKA Twigs have both also been linked to The Voice 2016 panel while former X Factor judge Nicole Scherzinger has reportedly been ruled out.

The new series will begin filming later this year ahead of its return to screens on BBC One in the New Year.

Jameela Jamil hosted the launch event for Why Not People? - a brand new music and events members club for disabled people - at the Troxy in London on Wednesday evening.
