The Voice UK runner up Lucy O’Byrne has signed a record deal with Big Life Management, it's been revealed.
Irish website Goss.ie reports that the Dublin performer has joined the same company as acts including The Scissor Sisters, La Roux, The Verve and Snow Patrol.
“So excited to be working with Big Life Management. So many exciting ideas going around my head,” Lucy said. “Can’t wait to start making music for you all.”
Lucy was mentored by Will.i.am on The Voice this year and finished as runner up to winner Stevie McCrorie in the final last month.
Speaking after the live shows, Lucy said earlier this year she hoped to record with Will after the pair's Opera-hip-hop duet in the final went down a storm.
She explained: “Will and his manager, who was integral in his career with the Black Eyed Peas, have been incredibly supportive and have so much belief in me and my career.
“Also, in the possibilities of merging two genres for an album. So hopefully something will become of that. It’s very exciting.”
And although she missed out on the top spot in the show, Lucy added: "I’m extremely proud of myself and how well I did.
“I never thought I’d get that far and to be the first classical singer to get to the live shows is a privilege and honour.”
The Voice UK will be back next year on BBC One.
