Stevie McCrorie (The Voice UK)

The Voice 2015 winner Stevie McCrorie has scored Number One on the Big Top 40 chart.

The unofficial award comes after Stevie shot straight to the top of the iTunes charts less than 24 hours after winning the show.

Stevie's chosen winner's track is ‘Lost Stars’, originally performed by American singer, actor and The Voice US coach, Adam Levine (from Maroon 5), and written by Gregg Alexander, Danielle Brisebois, Nick Lashley and Nick Southwood.

Lost Stars appears in 2014’s ‘Begin Again’, a film about the music-business starring Keira Knightley and Mark Ruffalo, along with Adam Levine. The track was recently nominated for Best Original Song at the 2015 OSCARs where it was performed by Adam Levine to an American audience of over 36 million people.

Stevie performed his version twice on the show on Saturday night and it available to download from midnight straight after the show through Universal Music.

As winner, Stevie has also signed an exclusive recording contract with Universal Music.

Stevie said: "I am lost for words! YOU HAVE ALL MADE MY DREAM COME TRUE!!! Thank you so much from the bottom of my heart!! ❤lets get this this single to number 1 !! It's available on iTunes at midnight !!! I LOVE YOU SO MUCH!!! 🙂 I'll speak to you soon!!!! loooooooooove!!!!!"

Proceeds from the single will go towards the BBC’s Performing Arts Fund, a BBC charity created to support and encourage the performing arts sector across the UK.

The Official Number 1 for this week won't be unveiled until next Sunday, so Stevie has a while to hang on to the top spot yet.
