The BBC wants Rita Ora back on The Voice UK next year, but there are fears she may quit.

Whereas her other coaches such as Will.i.am have publicly declared they hope to return, Rita has avoided the question when asked.

The Sun on Sunday tabloid reports that bosses want her back on the panel for a second series in 2016, even adding a special live performance for her in last night's live show.

It was after Rita was left with NO acts in the final following a format change that meant only the best contestants got through, regardless of which team they were on.

“The bosses had to go back to the drawing board and effectively restructure the final show," a source said. “A main concern was avoiding Rita looking like a spare part — especially as they are desperately keen to have her back next year.”

Will.i.am also wants Rita back and slammed the new format for not being "fair".

“I wouldn’t allow a coach not to have someone from her team in the final," he said. “I hope she comes back. She is the best for multiple reasons.”

Meanwhile, Sir Tom Jones revealed: “Rita was gutted, it was a tough thing for a new coach to go through. I felt sorry for her because she’s done a great job."

He admitted: “As soon as it happened I thought ‘My God, I hope this doesn’t put her off’. I’m hoping it hasn’t made her want to go."

Quizzed on whether she wanted to come back, Rita said: "Let me get through this series first."

If Rita does quit it'll make for the show's third new female judge in three years after both Jessie J and Kylie Minuoge also left in consecutive series.
