The Voice UK winner 2015 Stevie McCrorie is heading for NUMBER ONE in the charts.
It was Scottish firefighter Stevie who won The Voice 2015 last night, beating Lucy O'Byrne in the final result.
He released a cover of Adam Levine's Lost Stars for his winner's single which, at the time of writing, has already climbed to Number 3 on the charts.
It puts the song on course to make the top spot come next weekend if it can continue its momentum throughout the week.
However the track only needs to make the Top 20 to be the best performing song from a winner to date, with only one of the past three champs actually having managed to crack the Top 40 at all.
Although so far most successful song from the show has been runner up Leah McFall's I Will Survive, which hit Number 8 back in 2013.
Speaking ahead of the final, Stevie said he was hopeful he could prove a chart hit unlike past contestants.
“I don’t have any worries about previous seasons," he said. “I thought the singers last year were amazing but there hasn’t been anybody like me before. I’m quite rough around the edges.”
His mentor Ricky Wilson agreed, adding @Stevie is unique at the moment. I don’t see much of what Stevie is doing out there now.
“There’s a big Stevie-shaped hole in the industry and I’ve got the perfect man for the job.”
