The Kaiser Chiefs frontman confessed that he wasn't sure if the pair would get on when Rita was first announced for this year's line up but instead hit it off.
"We are just mates," newly single Ricky said this week. "Once all the Rita Ora-ness is out the way – and that happened really quickly – we were just mates having a laugh."
He admitted: "I didn’t expect to get on with her as well as I do."
Speaking to the Daily Mirror newspaper, Ricky explained: "I thought she would be quite aloof, but she’s naughty in a good way. She makes me feel younger and naughtier."
This weekend sees the final of The Voice UK but there will be no head to head for Ricky and Rita after the newbie coach lost all of her acts on Saturday.
She's left with an empty team in the last week while Ricky is looking strong with both Stevie McCrorie and Emmanuel Nwamadi in the running to be crowned The Voice 2015 winner.
They're joined in the final by Team Tom's Sasha Simone and Team Will's Lucy O'Byrne.
