Esmee Denters has admitted auditioning for The Voice UK was a risk.
The Dutch born singer who lives in London (with her American accent) wowed the panel with Coldplay's Yellow on last night's show.
All four coaches turned around for the 26-year-old with Esmee deciding to join Team Will.i.am.
Speaking about her appearance on the show, Esmee confessed she always feared trying out for talent shows.
"For a long time, I said no because it's a bit risky. What if no one likes me, or if it all goes wrong?" she explained. "But then I decided to go for it when I saw they were doing The Voice again this year with Will.i.am and Rita Ora."
As we saw on the show, Will and Esmee have met in the past and she revealed: "I met Will.i.am a long time ago, when I was signed, at a YouTube event.
"He was really lovely and we spoke for a while. I really remember that conversation because he gave me some good advice, and that was why I wanted to do The Voice."
Despite having had a lot of performing experience, evening touring alongside Justin Timberlake, Esmee confessed there were lots of nerves before her audition.
"You have a lot of time backstage when you're waiting around and the tension is building up," she told the Daily Mirror newspaper. "When you finally go on and you see the chairs, you think, 'This is crazy!'
"In the middle of your song, you realise what's going on with these chairs and you start watching them, which makes you even more nervous. It definitely threw me off a bit."
The Voice continues next Saturday night with more blind auditions on BBC One.
