Hitmaker Rita has become a coach the BBC One show after turning down rumoured offers to sit alongside Cheryl and Simon Cowell on The X Factor earlier this year.
Louis Walsh, a rather vocal critic of The Voice (no surprise), reckons she made the wrong choice (even less surprise).
“Rita turning down the X Factor to sign up to The Voice is a big mistake. I really think it is," he declared this week. “She was on X Factor as a guest judge and was good.
"X Factor is much better than The Voice. I think she will live to regret that decision.”
Louis went to suggest that The Voice UK's future could be in doubt despite being commissioned for a fifth series in 2016 already.
“The Voice haven’t had a One Direction, Leona Lewis, Olly Murs, or Ella Henderson yet," he told the Daily Star newspaper. “I think it will probably get axed soon and it should be axed because it’s not working.”
Meanwhile, Cheryl was less outspoken when quizzed about Rita joining the rival reality talent show.
The Girls Aloud singer said: "Personally I love everything but the kitchen sink thrown in to a performance so I couldn’t just sit there and listen like they do on The Voice.
“But if she has made that decision then good for her.”
The Voice 2015 begins in January on BBC One.
