The Voice 2015: Rita Ora gets Kylie Minogue's backing!

The Voice

Kylie Minogue has said that she's "excited" about Rita Ora's appointment on The Voice UK.

The Beeb confirmed this week that Rita would be joining the show next year, sitting in Kylie's seat alongise Ricky Wilson, Will.i.am and Sir Tom Jones.

Kylie, who departed after her first series earlier this year, told Lorraine on ITV earlier today: "I'm really excited that Rita is doing it, I think she'll be great!"

British singer Rita has also got the backing of Will.i.am, who said he wouldn't have done the show if anyone else - other than Gwen Stefani - were on the panel.

He told the Daily Mirror newspaper: "If it wasn't Rita, I wouldn't have done it. So I'm happy that it's Rita. Because when Kylie left I was like, 'Who else are you going to get?'

"Who else? Gwen Stefani is in America doing The Voice, but that would have been cool if we got her here. I don't know who else we could have got."

Speaking about her new role on The Voice 2015 earlier in the week, Rita said: "So excited to be part of - and for my team to win - The Voice this series!

"Let's have some fun Will, Tom and Ricky! I’m really looking forward to the blind auditions – and spinning in my big red chair. EXCITED!!!!”

The show will air on BBC One in the New Year.
