The Voice UK finalists Christina Marie and Jamie Johnson have both said they'll work hard to avoid flopping like past winners.

Team Kylie's Jamie took quite a swipe at last year's champion Andrea Begley, suggesting that she stopped 'trying' when the show was over.

He sniped: “None of us are Andrea. You don’t stop trying after The Voice and just become a star. It doesn’t work like that.

“You have to keep grabbing for things. The record label is not going to just say you are playing at the O2 and 20,000 tickets have been sold.”

Christina Marie, who is the favourite to win the show this evening, agreed.

"You have to keep going and do all the promo stuff," she said “You can’t expect somebody to do it for you.”

Speaking to The Sun newspaper this morning, The Team Ricky Wilson singer added: “We have had meetings with the label and they expect you to work.

“I think it takes the third or fourth year for a new show to be accepted and take off.”

The Voice 2014 final airs tonight from 7PM on BBC One.
