The Voice 2014 ratings dip to new series low for semi-finals

The Voice

The Voice UK's live shows are once again hemorrhaging viewers.

Despite this year's new look panel attracting over 10 million viewers for the audition shows, people have once again been tuning out for the live shows.

Last weekend saw a series low for the 2014 run as the live shows begun but last night's instalment rated even lower.

The semi-final show was round 300,000 viewers down on last Saturday's quarter final, averaging fewer than 6 million viewers.

5.94 million tuned in for the two-hour long show, which featured performances from Shakira and Enrique Iglesias.

The only slight good news for BBC bosses is perhaps that the figure is slightly up - albeit slightly - on last year's 5.81 million.

However you'd reckon that the Beeb would've probably wanted a bigger increase having shifted the whole show three months earlier to avoid Britain's Got Talent and boost ratings.

Over on ITV and Ant and Dec's Saturday Night Takeaway attracted over 6.1 million viewers, including ITV+1, for their penultimate episode.

Both The Voice and Saturday Night Take Away conclude next week.
