Will.i.am got a telling off from show bosses on The Voice UK tonight after swearing live on air.

The Black Eyed Peas star found himself in trouble after commenting on Lee Glasson's performance in this evening's live semi-final show.

Lee had performed London Grammar's Strong in a bid to make the final and Will remarked that the performance was "surprisingly brilliant."

He added: "I've never seen anyone strain over a microphone... you were feeling that s***"

Host Emma Willis was quick to do damage control, joking: "Will's been on his best behaviour for three series but I do apologise on Will's behalf if anyone has taken offense."

Will then quipped: "My mum just text me and she's upset."

Quickly taking to Twitter, Will added: "Oops...my moms ganna kill me...I slipped..."

However he then went on to mock rules that stopped him from using such "day to day" language just because he was on TV.

He added: "I'm sorry for saying #sh!+ on TV...#ooops....i didn't mean to offend anyone for the use of day to day language on Telly..."

The Black Eyed Peas frontman then went on to remark that Jamie Johnson's performance was "the ship".

The Voice UK continues live on BBC One now!
