Kylie Minogue has confirmed she's set to quit The Voice UK at the end of the current series.
It looks like the BBC could be in the need of at least one new coach for next year's series after Kylie announced she was very unlikely to be back due to tour commitments.
The Aussie popstar will be splitting her time between her new live arena show and a spot on the Voice Australia over the next twelve months, leaving little to no time for another series of the UK show.
“I’m touring this year and the timings wouldn’t work," Kylie explained. “We started filming in November last year for the show and this year I’m on tour in September, October and November.
“Being on the show is a huge commitment."
Kylie went on to hint that her decision not to return could also be down to the tough decisions she's already had to make in the pre-recorded episodes we've seen over the past ten weeks.
"I have loved it although there have been parts which have been really difficult, too taxing and emotional," she told the Daily Mirror newspaper. “You can’t second guess yourself.
“You deal with a lot of decisions and emotions.”
However there may still be a bit of hope for Kylie's return with a spokesperson for the BBC saying they would be open to trying moving filming dates around her tight schedule.
“Kylie is a fantastic addition to the coaching line up. We are aware of Kylie’s touring commitments and are looking to accommodate them, so that if the series is re commissioned she could return to her coaching role," they said today. "Discussions are still on going and it’s too early to speculate as we’ve not finished this series yet.”
However even if there were no clashes, Kylie didn't rush to say she'd definitely be back.
"I would have to think about it really seriously as I did for this season," she admitted.
Meanwhile the Into The Blue singer claimed that the show shouldn't even be about The Voice anyway.
It can’t just be about The Voice, you can’t just switch off your sense off vision and knowing people’s stories and getting to know their personalities," she said. “I think charisma is important and that is often very close to someone being sexy.”
