The Voice UK: Emily Adams hits out at show editing

Emily Adams (The Voice 2014)

Emily Adams has criticized the editing of The Voice UK after her battle rounds performance.

The Team Ricky singer claimed that her sing-off against Kelsey-Beth didn't come across well when she watched it back with her family last weekend.

Speaking ahead of tonight's knockout rounds, Emily said: "I personally thought that my battle was the best performance that I did out of the three, but I honestly didn't think it came across that well on TV.

"My mum, dad and friends who came along to the live audience said, 'Wow, the battles, you won't recognise yourself on TV, the atmosphere was incredible, you sounded amazing', and I was just expecting a hell of a lot more. So I'm just ready to watch the knockouts on Sunday."

Tonight we'll see Emily singing for a spot in the live shows and she's hoping her song "fresh" song choice will win over mentor Ricky.

Speaking to DigitalSpy, Emily revealed: "It's 'Slip' by Stooshe. I wanted to go sort of down the young, fresh route.

"Obviously I sang 'I'd Rather Go Blind' in my blinds - that was sort of an oldish song. And then the battles was more of a shouty song.

"So now I think I've picked a younger one so through the blinds, battles and knockouts I've shown what different styles of music I could sing. But the music I'd want to do would be sort of jazz, funky sort of stuff."

The Voice UK airs tonight form 7:45PM on BBC One.
