The Voice UK spoilers! Rachael O'Connor goes uptempo in the knockouts

Rachael O'Connor (The Voice 2014)

The Voice 2014 favourite Rachael O'Connor is set to take things up a notch this weekend.

The teenager has so far impressed with some pretty ballads but plans to show a rather different side to her singing in the knockout rounds tomorrow night.

“I want to show that I am young and bright and not do a ‘ballady’ type of thing. I do love singing ballads. But I think I want to show that I can do more in the Knockouts," she said.

The Team Kylie singer - who is the current bookies' favourite to win - credited her mentor as being a "role model."

Speaking to the Belfast Telegraph, Rachael said: "Kylie is perfect as a role model for me. She has done singing and acting — and that is what I want to do too.

“I always pictured Kylie being lovely, sweet and down to earth and really caring and that is exactly what she is."

The 17-yer-old is still in school right now, splitting her time between class and the show which has all be rather surreal.

Rachael explained: "One day, I was at the rehearsal studio singing in front of Kylie Minogue and Jake Shears (Scissor Sisters star).

“The next day I was back in school sitting in my English class telling my friends about it!”
