Kylie Minogue has hinted that she could be set to quit The Voice UK.
The current series is moving into its knockout rounds this weekend and producers and the public alike have been impressed with the 'Into the Blue' singer, who joined the panel this year alongside fellow newbie Ricky Wilson.
Ratings are up but Kylie has said she may not be back for a second series next year after signing up for the Australian version of the show.
To be fair, we don't blame Kylie for wanting to get rid of her current 20,000 mile roundtrip commute.
“I’m already doing it again in Australia, but UK or Australia, I don’t know if I could (do another series) because I’m going to be touring. We’ll see," Kylie said this week.
She added to the Daily Mirror newspaper: “I am doing The Voice Australia so that will carry on until July. I’ve got to get through at least this one first, and then two with Australia.”
However bosses are said to be offering Kylie a mega-million pound deal to keep her own on the show.
Keen to keep her on the panel, the Beeb is apparently willing to agree a £1 million fee, a £500,000 increase on her current half a million pound deal, to make the Aussie popstar the highest paid coach on the show.
“Ratings are at an all-time high and a lot of that is being put down to the Kylie effect,” a source said recently.
The insider added to the Daily Star Sunday newspaper last month: “BBC bosses believe she’s a natural and are prepared to double her pay to keep her on the show.”
For now, The Voice UK continues on Saturday and Sunday night on BBC One this weekend.
