Will.i.am unleashed his steal on The Voice UK battle rounds tonight by poaching Nomakhosi Nkosi from Team Kylie.

Nomakhosi had lost her battle against Jai McConnell after the pair sung-off against one another in a performance of Tained Love by Gloria Jones.

Will had backed Nomakhosi to win the battle telling the pair: "That was spectacular, it got real heated in the end and turned into a real battle."

But Ricky disagreed saying: "It was Jai's night."

Kylie eventually saved Belfast singer Jai praising her "out of this world" tone, explaining: "I am so proud of you both, that was electrifying.

"You both delivered more than I dared to hope. Nomakhosi your vocals are so smooth, I feel like you could sing the phone book.

"Jai, what Nomakhosi has to contend with is your tone which is out of space. This is so tough but the winner of this battle is... Jai."

When it came to the option to steal, Will teased: "I'm going to have to say No....makhosi" as he pressed his buzzer to pinch the South African performer for his own line up.

He later said: "I was missing that diva soul and Nomakhosi is diva, for real soul. She has what it takes to win it."

The Voice UK continues next weekend on BBC One with the latest battle rounds.
