The Voice UK's Talia Smith has revealed her ambition is to ditch the UK for Nashville.

Tonight we saw Talia win a spot in the next round of the show after she joined Sir Tom Jones' team following her blind audition.

Country singer Talia, who lives in a caravan in London, impressed the Welsh singer with a cover of Hell on Heels this evening and now hopes to become one of the UK's biggest country stars.

"Country music is my passion," she told The Sun newspaper. “To be able to move to Nashville and get a wage to do what I love is a dream.

“But I would never give up my roots. You can take the girl out of the trailer but you can’t take the trailer out of the girl!”

Speaking to the tabloid yesterday, Talia told how she was abandoned by her father after revealing she was leaving home to move in with her gypsy husband at just sixteen.

Oh, and she was having a baby with him too.

“I don’t have much to do with my dad’s family because when I got with Billy they were all like ‘shock, horror’," Talia explained. “Nobody wants their teenage daughter coming home and saying, ‘I’m pregnant and by the way the dad’s a traveller.’

"But Mum’s always been there for me.”

The Voice 2014 blind auditions air tonight from 7:10PM on BBC One.
