The Voice UK goes all X Factor with novelty act Si Genaro

Si Genaro

They said this series of The Voice UK would be more fun and tonight proves it is.

However it's getting harder and harder to differentiate the show from The X Factor as more and more novelty acts begin appearing before the coaches.

Although we guess the difference is that unlike The X Factor, they stand absolutely no chance of ending up in the live shows.

This evening sees Si Genaro attempt to win over the judges with a unique take on Down Under.

Describing himself as an acoustic beat boxing folk punk reggae artist, it's clear that this won't be a usual Voice audition.

Si reveals to the coaches that he lives up a tree and spends time chasing badgers around his forest.

That's all in between writing bizarre songs such as Chicken Train, which Si also ended up singing for the panel.

An impressed Kylie Minogue branded Si's act "kind of amazing" but clearly not a fan of the acoustic beat boxing folk punk reggae movement, Will told him he was trying to do too much at once.

A Voice source told the Daily Mirror newspaper: “Perhaps we were a bit too earnest last year. Si is a great entertainer.

"He’ll make people laugh.”
