The Voice 2014: Jamie Johnson takes swipe at X Factor after past rejection

Jamie Johnson (The Voice 2014)

The Voice UK act Jamie Johnson has taken a swipe at The X Factor after he was previously rejected from the show.

In 2011, Jamie auditioned for the ITV series but didn't even get the chance to sing for the judges.

It was a very different story for the self confessed mummy's boy on Saturday night as he sung for the likes of Will.i.am and Kylie Minogue on The Voice 2014.

The 19-year-old had Kylie, Sir Tom Jones and Ricky Wilson all pressing their buzzers with the teen choosing to join Team Kylie after singing So Sick by Ne-Yo for the panel.

Jamie said; “The Voice is all about singing. You don’t have to be the best looking, you can just focus on your music.”

Meanwhile, Jamie's fellow contestant from the weekend Mairead Conlon has confessed she had no idea who Ricky was when she tried out of the show.

The 31-year-old, who also previously auditioned for The X Factor, joined Team Tom after a performance of Purple Rain.

She told The Sun newspaper today: “I read up on them because when I heard the name Ricky Wilson I didn’t know who it was. When I read up on him online I saw he was with the Kaiser Chiefs.”

The Voice UK continues on Saturday nights on BBC One.
