The Voice 2014: Bland 'Marvin from JLS' is panned by viewers

The Voice UK 2014 - Marvin Humes

Marvin Humes has been slated as the new host for The Voice UK for being just too boring.

Marvin from JLS, as he seems to have become known now, joined the BBC One show this year alongside Celebrity Big Brother's Emma Willis.

The pair replaced Reggie Yates and Holly Willoughby while the panel also saw a refresh with new coaches Kylie Minogue and Ricky Wilson.

But while most of the new additions have proved a hit with viewers, Marvin's presenting career hasn't exactly got off to the best of starts.

One critic branded him "hopeless" while viewers complained: "Marvin from JLS is so wooden and boring."

Another joked: "He's so boring paint watches him dry."

To be fair to Marvin, he has been thrown in at the deep end with no primetime presenting experience.

Speaking before the series begin, former X Factor finalist Marvin confessed he was finding filming the show "daunting" and admitted to being "out of [his] comfort zone".

The 'Beat Again' hitmaker said: “It’s going great but its daunting.

“I’m out of my comfort zone. Emma Willis helping me out, too. I’m lucky to be on there too.”

The reception to Emma on the other hand was much more positive, although some were a tad worried about her becoming the next Holly Willoughby or Davina McCall by appearing on seemingly EVERY show.
