The Voice UK's Beth McCarthy has confessed she can't remember anything about her audition.
The 16-year-old was one of the stand outs in last night's opening episode, winning a spot on Team Ricky after a performance of Sexy And I Know It.
But Beth, who has been gigging since she was just 13, admitted much of it was all a blur for her.
“It was a bit surreal meeting the four massive stars especially Sir Tom Jones," she recalled this week. "I felt like when I was standing in front of him he was like a doll of himself, he just didn’t seem real.
“There was a lot of waiting around and then when I came to sing, I can’t remember the audition, it’s just a blank.
“I think I was just that nervous and when you are doing it you are trying to just do it right.”
Speaking to local newspaper York Press, Beth paid more tribute to her dad for his support over the past three years.
She said: “My dad is great, he drives me around to all my gigs no matter where they are. He is literally my roadie."
The teenager added: “It’s my dream to be a singer song-writer. I decided when I started gigging that this is what I’m going to do. I’m going to work as hard as I can and The Voice was another way of achieving that.”
The Voice UK blind auditions continue next Saturday night on BBC One from 7PM.
