The Voice UK: Will.i.am to quit for American Idol?

Will.i.am (The Voice 2013)

Will.i.am could become the next judge to walk out from The Voice UK.

Next year's third series of the BBC One reality show is also set to see a big panel revamp, with both Jessie J and Danny O'Donoghue having confirmed they won't be back.

Jessie said last month: "I’ve absolutely loved my time on The Voice and I hope everyone saw and knows how passionately I felt about the show.

"However, I can’t wait to promote my new record around the world and that has to take priority. I shall be keeping a very close eye on series three, showing my support in every way I can and [I] really hope that in some way I can be part of the show.”

And Danny added: "I had two wonderful seasons on The Voice and as everybody knows I gave it my heart and soul and couldn't be more proud of the show and what we have achieved.

"My focus will be on The Script moving forward as we are about to embark on the most important part of our career as a band."

Now it looks like Will.i.am could be off to, with rumours of a deal with American Idol in the US.

Bosses over the Atlantic are said to be in talks with Will, as well as former American Idol winner Jennifer Hudson, to join the new series.

The show is need of some new panelists after both Nicki Minaj and Mariah Carey quit the series last year, but filming would rule Will out of The Voice next year.
