The Voice UK: wants Cheryl Cole to replace Jessie J

Cheryl Cole has backed pal Cheryl Cole to replace Jessie J on The Voice UK next year.

The Voice 2014 is in need of two new coaches after both Jessie and Danny O'Donoghue walked away from the series.

The Black Eyed Peas star has said he's backing former X Factor judge Cheryl to sit beside him in her own chair next Spring.

“Cheryl has been very successful on music talent shows in the past," Will said this month. "She is great with the contestants and really gives everything to them. But also the audience loves her, which is so important on these shows, you need to be likeable.”

He added: “She has been concentrating on other things, but I could see her getting back into a talent show for sure. She would have offers from The UK and The US – but she would be perfect for The Voice.

"I love working with her, so it would be a pleasure for me. She is such a perfectionist in everything she does, so we will just have to see what happens.”

Speaking to WIRED magazine, Will however refused to confirm whether nor he'd even be back on the show himself next year.

“I did it the second year and it was a great experience," he commented.

And Will revealed: “I paid to do ‘The Voice’ that year. That means the hotels and the travel and the food, I paid to be on TV, because the money I would have earned went to kids in the Prince’s Trust to learn science, technology and mathematics. That’s what that means

The Voice UK airs on BBC One.
