Andrea Begley (The Voice UK)

The Voice UK 2013 winner Andrea Begley has secured her first top 40 hit today with her cover of 'My Immortal' - beating last year's winner Leanne Mitchell.

The single - which she performed live during last Saturday's grand final - made it to number 30 in this week's official chart rundown, 15 places ahead of Mitchell's winner's track 'Run To You', which peaked at just 45.

Meanwhile, the original version - by American rock band Evanescence - also re-entered at number 40.

Begley's fellow finalist Leah McFall is one place behind at 31 with her reworking of 'I Will Survive', which became The Voice's biggest hit to date earlier this month, reaching number 8.

McFall also charts at 43 and 50 with 'I Will Always Love You' and 'Killing Me Softly' respectively, while Begley's 'Ho Hey' just managed to scrape in to the top 100 at 98.

The partially-sighted 27-year-old previously said that she intends to release her debut album before Christmas.
