The Voice UK: Will.i.am tells singers NOT to apply after shock final results

Will.i.am (The Voice 2013)

The Voice UK coach Will.i.am hasn't taken the news of tonight's final results too well.

In a shock outcome, Andrea Begley won The Voice 2013 this evening, beating Will's finalist Leah McFall.

The outcome seemed to take even Andrea and her family by surprise, with Leah being the odds-on tip to win going into the evening's show.

And throughout the evening, the coaches time and time again championed the Belfast singer ahead of Andrea and fellow finalists Mike Ward and Matt Henry.

But when the results were announced, an angry Will stormed off the set before taking to Twitter (where else?) to rant.

First telling a hopeful who was planning to apply for next year's third series "don't", Will later claimed that the studio was "so sad" after Andrea's win.

He wrote online: "You should feel the audiences vibration in the room tonigh after the publics vote…its #unexplainable…so sad…#perplexed"

Just today Will claimed that the show would be "rendered pointless" with another winner failed to win.

"These shows render themselves pointless if they can't identify something that's going to be on the radio and that's just me being part of the show," he explained. "So we spend all this time looking for somebody and they aren't on the radio?

"In my opinion after the show is finished everyone should be scrambling, just like they were scrambling to find the next singer, just to make sure the person who won has a chance, has a shot, at the radio.

"Because that's what the premise is, the premise isn't just a record deal, the premise is a career."
