The Black Eyed Peas star has suggested that the show's battle and knockout rounds need to be made more interesting to keep viewers hooked.
Once again this year figures began to fall once the blind audition stages of the show were complete, with 7 million viewers becoming 4 million between the end of the auditions and the start of the live shows.
"It needs to be better than it was at the beginning," Will said. “Something like where you could actually dunk them. ‘I don’t like ’em’ and they’re in the water’.
“An exit button and you just catapult them out.”
Speaking to the Radio Times, the Black Eyed Peas frontman also blasted the show's record company for the way they handled last year's winner Leanne Mitchell.
Sir Tom Jones' singer Leanne only released her debut album last month, with the record failing to chart in the Top 100 after shifting less than 1,000 copies.
“The record company should be freakin’ embarrassed. Somebody should be held accountable," Will said. “These singers are on television every week. So you’ve already accomplished things that stars don’t accomplish.
“Do you wait a year later? Somebody should get slapped because you waited too long.”
