The Voice 2013: Our top three performances from the quarter-finals

Leah McFall (The Voice UK)

The Voice UK live shows kicked off at the weekend with the quarter finals, and here are our top three picks from the performances.

All of the finalists performed on last Friday's show, which was a pleasant change from last year's bizarre split team performances, but it did make picking just three songs pretty difficult.

And while none of the budding performers did poorly, we do think the judges should perhaps take a little more time deciding song choices.

Here's our top three, and as always feel free to disagree or agree in the comments with your own favourites!

Leah McFall

It's no surprise to see Leah at the top here, since her audition she's been a favourite but only in the knockouts did her voice really begin to shine. Leah's take on I Will Survive was a stand out on Friday, although in future we would like to perhaps see less of the runs and thrills that Jessie is so fond of.

Andrea Begley

Since her audition we've not been too overly keen of Andrea's performances. The Irish star certainly has an undeniably angelic voice, but we were waiting for something different, and she brought it in the live shows! It's no shock that Danny chose her as the fast pass, easily out-singing both Karl and Mitchell.

Joseph Apostol

Joe has become the dark horse of the competition, having been rather quiet throughout the auditions and battles. Mentor Sir Tom Jones has been trying to encourage the confidence in the Filipino and it looked to be paying off during the first live show of the series, as Joe belted out Jackie Wilson (the bloke!)'s Higher and Higher.

The Voice UK continues this Saturday night on BBC One.
