The Voice UK 2013 knockouts: Danny O'Donoghue picks his three finalists

Team Danny

Danny O'Donoghue has chosen Karl Michael, Andrea Begley and Mitchel Emms to be on his team for The Voice UK 2013 live shows.

The Script frontman was the last of the coaches to choose his top three artists in tonight's second round of Knockouts.

"If I could take me off the show to have another one of them go through, I would," he commented.

Danny begun by awarding his 'Fast Pass' to the act he wanted to go through immediately. "The person I'm sending through has shown me that not only do they sing with emotion, they sing from the heart every single time," he explained.

He then announced that it would go to Karl Michael, who responded: "I'm shaking. I'm so grateful man, I swear to god. You just threw me a lifeline."

With two more places remaining, his split his remaining six artists in to teams of three to fight against each other with their 'killer songs'.

First up were Andrea and Abi Sampa, alongside Alex Buchanan, whom Danny stole from Jessie J in the Battle rounds.

"Abi has confidence issues and I think she did a good job," the 'Hall Of Fame' singer commented after their performances. "Andrea never ceases to amaze me. Alex, Jessie was like, 'his pitch is perfect now'. I'm really really proud of all three of you tonight.

"I personally have to go with my emotions and the person that hit me in the heart most was Andrea."

It was then Mitchel, Conor Scott, and Sean Rumsey's turns to go head-to-head.

"I go with gut, as I said before, someone who is able to take whatever I can throw at them, ingest that, and within the week, come back bigger better and stronger. The winner of this knockout is Mitchel," revealed Danny.

The Voice UK continues this Friday at 7.00pm on BBC One, when the top twelve artists will sing live to the nation for the first time.
