ITV have accused BBC bosses of 'running scared' after they moved the Voice UK live shows to a Friday.
It was revealed yesterday that the first of The Voice 2013 UK live finals will now air a day earlier to avoid a clash with Britain's Got Talent.
There's only three live shows on The Voice this year, and they were due to air every Saturday from June 8.
But the Britain's Got Talent 2013 final is set to air on the same evening, so now the first of the Voice's shows will instead be broadcast on Friday, June 7.
It's the second time that the BBC has moved the show's slot, having originally shifted it to a later time on Saturday nights to avoid clashing with the BGT auditions.
The second series isn't on at all this weekend, due to Eurovision, but will make up for it next weekend with a special two hour show from 7:10PM.
But the weekend after sees another time change, with the new knockout round not starting until 9PM and finishing at gone 10PM.
An ITV source told the Daily Mirror yesterday: “This shows how badly The Voice is doing. They are running scared of BGT.”
A spokesperson for the BBC however commented: "We are trying to avoid overlaps so have moved later in the best interest of viewers, following ITV's move last week to create a clash."
