The Voice UK hopeful Sarah Cassidy has revealed she was turned away from the show last year.
Sarah won her battle against Katie Benbow at the weekend to make it through to the knock out stage.
It's a rather different outcome from last year when Sarah failed to even make it before the coaches, rejected before the blind audition stage.
"I waited until I was 31 to go on a show like this because I was scared of rejection," she said. "It meant more to me being on The Voice. I wanted them to turn around because of my voice rather than anything else. Before I thought people would just pick me because of the way I looked.
“It means more to me to know that they like my voice. That’s the most important thing.”
Sarah is in Team Jessie and despite the age gap between her and her mentor, it sounds like they're getting along brilliantly.
Sarah told the Sunday People: “Jessie looks after us all, she’s great. Once she said to me, ‘You seem fun and I think we would have a really good time together’ – so we’ll hopefully be going out.”
Sarah isn't the only reject from last year to make a comeback this series, with Welsh singer Alys Williams turning for nosinto four yeses when she auditioned last month.
The Voice returns to BBC One in two weeks' time.
