The Voice UK 2013 hopeful Sarah Cassidy is hoping to move from modelling to singing on the show.
We saw Sarah impress the coaches on last night's latest audition episode, with both Jessie J and Danny o'Donoghue turning around, as well as Tom Jones – with a fierce battle quickly emerging between the former two.
“I can coach you technically, I can teach you breathing exercises that will help your range,” urged Jessie, who added that she understands how ‘nervewracking’ it is to be a female in the music industry.
“What’s the difference?” argued Danny. “It’s not like you’re a sub-species or anything, you’re the same!”
Meanwhile, Will.i.am said he felt like a ‘dumb-ass’ for not turning, especially when Sarah revealed that he was the coach she wanted before her audition. She eventually went with Jessie, becoming the third female on her team.
But The Voice isn't Sarah's first attempt at cracking the chats, with the former Miss Scotland having previously been a part of girl group Lemonescent.
“It was the best time of my life. We were lucky enough to meet and tour with some of the hottest acts on the music scene," she recalled this week. “We were working non-stop, trying our best to get our big break and even shared a dressing room with Girls Aloud. It felt like we were living the dream.”
Now Sarah hopes the BBC One series will let her pursue a career in music.
“I’ve always wanted to make it as a solo singer but so far it just hasn’t happened for me," she said.
Discussing her audition, Sarah told the Daily Record: “[Reggie and Holy] are both lovely and Holly helped calm my nerves. Before going on my stomach was churning but I knew I had to really give it my all.
“The minute the music began I just threw myself into the song, and the fact the judges can’t see you makes it a lot easier.
“I think all four are great, especially Jessie J. She has an amazing voice and I think Will.i.am is pretty cool, too."
