ITV bosses are reportedly confident that Ant and Dec will triumph over the voice UK this weekend
Saturday nights will see the return of The Voice on BBC One as it goes up against Ant and Dec's Saturday night takeaway.
Ant and Dec have been receiving some impressive ratings for the new series, with last week's show climbing to an impressive 9 million viewers, more then the X factor was getting last year.
It's left ITV confident that the Geordie duo will beats the BBC One show on when they go head-to-head on Saturday night.
According to the Daily Mirror, ITV bosses reckon viewers won't be impressed by the amount of familiar faces auditioning for the voice UK this year.
Amongst the former stars set to go in front of the coaches are 90s singer Kavana, Danny from Hear’Say and Cleopatra star [tag]Cleo Higgins[/tag].
“We are quietly confident that Ant and Dec will blow the competition away," a supposed ITV insider told the newspaper today. "Why anyone would want to watch former stars is anyone’s guess.
"These shows should be about finding a star out of the blue not resurrecting former pop glory.”
However a source speaking from the Beeb hit back: “There are over a hundred people in the live auditions and only a handful with careers behind them – and not all of those get through.”
The Voice UK launched to over 10 million viewers last year and proved a hit with viewers during the auditions.
But the live shows saw people tune out in their droves, with the series ending with almost half its original audience.
The show starts its second series at 7PM on BBC One on Saturday night.
