The 35-year-old - real name Anthony Kavanagh - had a string of moderately successful hits in the late 90s, including 'I Can Make You Feel Good' and 'MFEO', which reached number 8 in the charts.
According to the Daily Star, Kavana recently attempted to revive his career on the BBC show, but his try-out didn't impress the coaches - Will.i.am, Jessie J, Tom Jones and Danny O'Donoghue - who failed to spin their chairs for him.
An insider said: "He was gutted."
Kavana was previously came second in Simon Cowell's flop reality show Grease Is The Word in 2007, which searched for talent to play the lead roles in a stage version of Grease.
He is the latest faded star to have been rejected by the Voice, with others including Danny Foster, an ex-member of Popstars winners Hear'Say, and 5ive singer Sean Conlon, who has now rejoined his band for ITV2's The Big Reunion.
The second series of The Voice UK is expected to hit our screens later this month.
