Former Dancing On Ice host Holly will join Radio 1 DJ Reggie on the new BBC One series from Saturday, and Reggie says the pair have loved working together.
“Working with Holly is like being with your best mate. We’ve known each other for like 15 years since we both started in kids TV," he said.
Reggie went on reveal: “We have a lot in common. For example she admitted to a crush on coach Jessie J. I can totally see that. Jessie is so cool, who doesn’t have a crush on her?
“It’s a good job they don’t let me in her dressing room as I’d drink her bath water.”
And Jessie isn’t the only of the show’s four coaches to catch his eye.
“I have a man crush on Tom Jones,” he continues, “I want to be his best mate and just hang around him all the time.
“I think people take for granted how bloody cool he actually is. He’s a legend. It’s wicked because loads of stories come out about it.
“In the format, after the contestant has sung, if more than one coach turns their chair around, the power switches.
“The coaches have to pitch to the person on stage about why they should join their team. So they start going off against each other head-to-head. For example, Jessie could say: ‘Look, I’m an artist in the charts now in 2012, go with someone your own age.’
“But the thing about Tom Jones or will.i.am is that they have these amazing anecdotes and have worked with everyone, so their experience is invaluable. So they keep trying to one up each other.”
Reggie revealed that all of the coaches have been name dropping to win over artists again, but Sir Tom and Will have a big advantage over their younger and less experienced coaches.
He added: “Will.i.am will talk about working with Justin Timberlake and then Tom Jones will talk about Frank Sinatra and then will.i.am will talk about Michael Jackson and then Tom will talk about Elvis. They are big-time.”
The Voice UK starts on BBC One on Saturday, March 30.
