The Voice UK: Jessie J wants less sob stories next year

The Voice UK coach Jessie J has said she wants less sob stories on the show this year.

It was confirmed yesterday Jessie will return to the BBC show next year, along with fellow coaches Danny O’Donoghue, will.i.am and Tom Jones.

She said: “I’m so happy to be back as one of the original four for series two. It’s going to be even bigger and better this time and I can’t wait. Bring it on.”

However Jessie is hoping that the show's producers will cut down on the amount of back stories and focus more on the voice.

Discussing the second series, which begins filming in the new year, Jessie said: “I think producers know what works and what doesn’t work.

“I’m not personally a fan of the back story. It’s a bit like, ‘been there, done that, seen that’. For me it’s about the voice. I’m just really honest and I might get into trouble for saying so. But I just want to hear them sing.”

But while Jessie will be back, we can perhaps expect a different look from the Do It Like A Dude singer, who will be shaving her head off for charity in the Spring.

Jessie said: “I’m doing it for Comic Relief.

“I’ll have hair for the auditions but I’ll be bald when I come back for the shows."

The Voice UK begins in the new year.
