Mark Wright has reportedly threatened to follow in the footsteps of Amy Childs and quit The Only Way Is Essex, after receiving an offer of £250,000 to enter Celebrity Big Brother. The hunk is currently embroiled in a row over month with the makers of the ITV2 reality series.
Mark, Amy and all other cast members of the show are paid just £50 a day for their personal lives to be broadcast to millions, but bosses have stopped them from 'topping up' their wage by taking up offers from other shows - including Big Brother.
Amy Childs this week confirmed she had left the show after receiving £200,00 to enter the celebrity house later this month, and Mark Wright has threatened to follow suite unless producers up his £50 a day wage.
According to The Sun, Channel 5 bosses have offered the Essex lad £250,000 to take part in the new series of reality show.
An insider told the tabloid: "There is disquiet over pay. A lot of big names have been offered serious money for other shows. Mark is now seriously considering his future on the show."
And it's not just Big Bro that is interested. "There has been a lot of interest in him [Mark] from elsewhere," pal explained.
"He has yet to decide if he will return for the new series. He loves it but he has to decide what is best for his own career."
An Essex insider added: "If people think they can make more money elsewhere they are free to go. Nobody is bigger than the show."
TOWIE returns for a third series in September. Celebrity Big Brother stars on August 17.
