Louis Smith remains the firm favourite to win The Jump 2017 ahead of week four.
In fact Louis’s odds have been slashed from 5/4 to the 8/11 odds-on favourite to win The Jump despite being sent to the ski jump by Bradley Wiggins on Sunday.
It was a battle of the Olympians in the skeleton course with Bradley and Louis pitted against each other. Bradley beat Louis 44.28 seconds to 45.43 seconds, but as Bradley has since bowed out of the competition the stint in the jump has had no impact on Louis’ chances of winning.
Both Jason Robinson and Spencer Matthews, who both won their respective skeleton runs, are next in the betting, but at the much larger price of 5/1, leaving it a very one sided Jump this season.
Aoife Heffron, Spokeswoman for BoyleSports said this week: “It’s all about Louis Smith in The Jump betting and he now looks unstoppable in the race to the title after his odds shortened to 8/11 from 5/4. With his main competition Bradley Wiggins now out, it has just paved the path for Louis to snatch the title.”
She added “Spencer Matthews has his supporters however as punters appear keen on his current 5/1 price to win, especially as he finished the skeleton course in 44.71 seconds, faster than favourite Louis Smith.”
The Jump 2017 continues this Sunday night on Channel 4 at 7:30PM.
