Former Coronation Street star Ryan Thomas has been tipped to appear on The Island with Bear Grylls this year.
The soap actor is rumoured to have signed up to the second Celebrity series of the Channel 4 show, which airs in the autumn.
It comes two years after Ryan was dropped from the line up of Bear's ITV series Mission Survive.
"Ryan is really looking forward to testing himself on The Island," a source told The Sun newspaper. “He was excited to take part in Mission Survive a couple of years ago but it was decided by all involved that it might not be the most appropriate time given his busy personal life.
“He hopes he can give it a proper crack this time round.”
It could be a busy year for Ryan with rumours that he could also end up on I'm A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here.
Ryan could follow in the footsteps of younger brother Adam Thomas who appeared on last year's show.
Adam, who also has a twin brother Scott Thomas that took part in ITV2 reality show Love Island, finished third on I'm A Celeb in December.
Now ITV are reportedly keen to get Ryan, who played Corrie’s Jason Grimshaw, on this year's line up.
A source 'close to the actor' told The Sun newspaper earlier this year “There was speculation before Adam went into the jungle that maybe Ryan would do it – but circumstances went against that and Adam went in and did brilliantly.
“Ryan would be superb in the jungle and there has never been a family member following a family member into the outback ever in all the series."
Ryan quit Coronation Street last year, saying at the time: "I feel like sometimes you go round in circles with storylines and being in a soap is like being in a bubble.
"It's time to pop it, test myself and take myself out of my comfort zone."
