Celebrity Island with Bear Grylls has come under fire over the killing of turkeys.
Last Sunday night's show saw the celebs FINALLY catch their first meal on the Island.
After more than a week and with two celebs having left, the all star cast managed to capture two turkeys.
It took them a while - and TOWIE's Lydia Bright couldn't face up to it - but eventually 'Selfie Queen' Karen Danczuk and The Hotel's Mark Jenkins managed to corner and dispatch the birds.
The scenes have led to complaints online and from animal rights groups.
Elisa Allen, director of PETA UK, told The Sun newspaper: “This turkey was doing nothing more than foraging and minding his or her own business before being cruelly snatched and apparently strangled to death.
“This curious, sociable bird joins a list of animals who have suffered and died for Channel 4’s cheap and nasty ploys to try to boost ratings.
“In an era of TV shows which are creative, enthralling, and animal-friendly, Channel 4 keeps getting more vile and out of touch.”
In a response to the comments, Channel 4 said in a statement: “An important part of the experiment was to find out if the group were capable of surviving alone and able to find sources of food, including hunting and killing for meat.
"All islanders were trained in the humane capture and dispatch of live indigenous animals and the animals were killed humanely.”
Celebrity Island with Bear Grylls continues Sunday night at 9PM on Channel 4.
