It’s the FINAL week of The Island with Bear Grylls for the women tonight but will they all make it to the end?
The group are on the verge of collapse despite managing to turn the dire situation around after paramedics threatened to pull them off the island in last week but are starting to turn on each other like never before.
“If anything’s going to make me leave this island, it’s the people – it’s the lack of teamwork," complains Julie.
Jamie adds: “I think we’re going to end up killing each other by the end of this, I really do.”
Fractures in the group see jobs not getting done and low team morale is only compounded by an insect attack.
It all results in Beth and Lauren calling an emergency meeting, and the two are elected joint leaders in a bid to stop the group rift developing further and restore order.
A positive Fi says: “Beth and Lauren’s vision for how the island should run began and Jesus, how much better is it. I can’t begin to tell you.”
However Jaime voices her disappointment in the decision as she feels it could lead to a dictatorship, causing further arguments and tension.
As the experiment comes to an end after six weeks, Bear Grylls arrives to pick them up, saying: "Genuinely what you guys have been through – respect.”
He adds: “I knew the stereotype was wrong…I knew they could nail this…I’m so genuinely proud of what they’ve achieved.”
Those that have lasted it out begin their journey home reflecting on how the experience has changed them and wondering what they can expect when they return to their day to day lives…
