Cheryl has revealed her excitement at meeting RuPaul on Drag Race UK and working with Todrick Hall on The Greatest Dancer.

Drag Race finally arrives on BBC Three next month, with ten queens battling to become the UK's first Drag Superstar.

An A-list line-up of guest judges critique their charisma, uniqueness, nerve and talent, one of whom is Cheryl.

The 'Let You' singer is "obsessed" with the show, and recently told Gay Times that she had a fangirl moment on coming face-to-face with Mama Ru.

She gushed: "I just stared at Ru the whole time. I was so starstruck. I don’t get starstruck easily.

"Obviously our queens are amazing, but it was the first time I’d ever met Ru and I was just in awe of him.

"I’m excited for it to be finally coming to the UK. I’m a massive fan of the show."

Cheryl cites Alyssa Edwards, Valentina and Monet X Change among her favourite queens.

One contestant on the new UK series, Cheryl Hole, based her stage name on the former Girls Aloud member.

The drag talent contest has also crossed over with Cheryl's main TV gig on BBC One's The Greatest Dancer.

Bosses recently hired singer and choreographer Todrick Hall, a regular on the original Drag Race, as one of its new 'dance captains'.

Cheryl was overwhelmed when she found out the news a week before series two began filming.

"I think screamed. I actually screamed down the phone," she admitted.

"You know when you just know you’re going to click with someone? We just hit it off the second I met him."

She said Todrick has brought "a lot of fire" to Simon Cowell's dancing format, adding: "He’s looking for different things from anyone else on the panel.

"He has actually attracted a different crowd to come audition, which is lovely."

Cheryl was speaking after her triumphant performance at Manchester Pride last weekend, where she covered Todrick's track 'Nails, Hair, Hips, Heels'.

Drag Race UK premieres on BBC Three via iPlayer on Thursday 3rd October at 8.00pm.

Other guest judges include Andrew Garfield, Geri Horner, Twiggy and Little Mix star Jade Thirlwall.

Meanwhile, The Greatest Dancer will be back on BBC One in early 2020.
