This evening’s episode saw Ryan-Mark Parsons become the eighth candidate to be fired from the BBC One business show.

Tonight (November 20) the candidates gathered at Battersea rail depot. There Lord Sugar revealed that it was full steam ahead for this week’s task, in which the teams had to host a corporate away day onboard the iconic Belmond British Pullman train.

The candidates were instructed to lay on food, drink and provide entertainment for their guests, attempting to turn a profit from ticket sales to the corporate clients.

Ryan-Mark Parsons led Team Empower with Thomas Skinner, Marianne Rawlins, Lewis Ellis and Pamela Laird.

Team Unison was led by Lottie Lion with Dean Ahmad, Scarlett Allen-Horton and Carina Lepore.

Team Empower hosted a “quintessentially English experience” themed train ride while Team Unison put on a 1920s circus themed away day.

Team Empower made a profit of £1,812.75 while Team Unison made a profit of £1,828.25, narrowly winning the task.

For their treat, winning Team Unison spent an evening learning sabrage – a technique for opening a champagne bottle with a saber (sword) – while losing Team Empower stayed to face Lord Sugar in the final boardroom.

Project manager Ryan-Mark brought Thomas and Marianne back for the final showdown.

Delivering his verdict, Lord Sugar concluded: “My decision is, Ryan-Mark one thing I do know for sure I don’t think you could be my business partner so it is with regret that you are fired.”

Making his exit, Ryan-Mark said: “When I get home I’m going to have a bath, drink champagne and I’m never getting on a train again.”
