Fired Apprentice 2011 candidate Glenn Ward has said that he aims to prove Lord Sugar wrong about engineers, following his axe from the show. Lord Sugar booted the 28-year-old off of the show because as he doubted the design engineer would be able to turn his hand to business.
"Lord Sugar has his opinions [on engineers] and if that's what he thinks, that's what he thinks," Glenn said, "I can only go out there now and prove him wrong.
"I think there are engineers out there who have done well in business. Mark Zuckerberg, Bill Gates, James Dyson... they all did pretty well as far as I can tell. I wouldn't compare myself directly to them, but I can only aspire."
Speaking to DigitalSpy, he added: "I look forward to the day I shake Lord Sugar's hand and I say, 'I told you I could do it'."
Glenn was given the axe after project manager Jim Eastwood brought him back into the boardroom along with Susan Ma after their team lost a task to create a new magazine. Despite both Jim and Glenn pinning the blame on Susan, it was Glenn who faced the wrath of Lord Sugar.
Speaking about 'Jedi master' Jim, Glenn said: "I am friends with Jim. I don't think he's a bulls**tter. I think he's got a very powerful weapon in his arsenal and that's the ability to negotiate. He was fighting for his life in that boardroom and he talked himself out of the boardroom. That's what I should have done and I can't complain. You have to applaud him for it really."
The Apprentice continues next Wednesday at 9pm on BBC One as the teams travel to Paris to export British made goods.
