One of the latest candidates to be fired from The Apprentice 2011 has spoken about being "gutted" about not getting the chance to prove herself as Project Manager. Ellie Reed, who was fired alongside Vincent Disneur on Wednesday night, said she didn't feel "competitive enough" to take on the role in previous tasks.
Talking about getting fired after 5 weeks on the show, Ellie said: "I was pretty gutted obviously. I wanted to win it. I think if I had been project manager in one of the following tasks and had the chance to make people listen to me and do as I said, I think we would have won a task and I'd have proved myself to him. But I never had that opportunity."
Ellie added: "It's pretty gutting that I didn't have just one more week to prove myself really."
Speaking to DigitalSpy, Ellie said she regretted not taking on the role of PM earlier in the show. "I don't think I was competitive enough and didn't want it enough," she said. "I wasn't willing to change my personality and I told myself that before going on the show.
"With hindsight, I just wish I'd argued a little bit more about the job roles I was put in. I am a sales person and it's what I've made my money and two successful businesses out of, but I always seemed to be landed with the doing roles rather than the selling roles."
Meanwhile asked about the surprise double firing on this week's show, Ellie said: "In some ways it was better because I kept thinking about Vincent's smug face when I got fired. But at the same time, I kept thinking, 'Couldn't you have just fired him and given me another week?' I think with Vincent gone I'd have had more chances to shine.
"Lord Sugar didn't get where I was coming from, because me and Vincent are totally different people and that's why it didn't work out for us."
The Apprentice 2011 continues next Wednesday at 9PM on BBC One.
