Star of The Apprentice 2011 Nick Hewer has joked that he "remains hopeful" of hooking up with Lord Sugar's former aide Margaret Mountford! PR guru Nick, who has been Lord Sugar's go to guy for nearly 30 years now, added to The Guardian that Lord Sugar had to twist his arm to take part in the show.
“Lord Sugar rang me and said he wanted to be on this new TV show called ‘The Apprentice’. He tortured me for days at his house in Marbella," Nick revealed to the newspaper. "I said, ‘I don’t want to be on TV’. He said, ‘You’re a wimp’. He said he would fix a fee for me, which I thought was a bit rich.”
Nick added: “In the end, I went for it. I had nothing else to do.”
Asked whether he enjoyed taking part in the show, now in its seven series, he joked: "When the filming's over, yes. But making the series is too much like hard work."
Meanwhile Nick confessed his fondness for former Apprentice colleague Margaret Mountford, who left the show in 2009 to focus on her studies. He said: “I’m very fond of her. I like to think she’s fond of me. She has got Elizabeth Taylor’s eyes and great teeth. Margaret is not currently married. I always remain hopeful.”
The Apprentice 2011 continues on Wednesday night at 9PM on BBC One.
