As The Apprentice 2011 comes within a day of returning to our screens on BBC One, Lord Sugar's aide Nick Hewer has branded his boss as a "super-absorbent little Buddha" who "takes everything in"! In an interview this week, Nick added that it was pure luck he got the job on the show in the first place.
PR guru Nick Hewer has been Lord Sugar's right hand man since the first series, and has worked closely with Sugar for nearly 3 decades now.
Speaking to Glamour magazine about his boss, Nick said: “Lord Sugar and I have been friends for 25 years and the man is extraordinary.
“He’s like some sort of super-absorbent little Buddha who takes everything in and then makes decisions accordingly.”
And modest Nick - who has provided us with plenty of entertainment on the show over the years - said he still couldn't deal with being famous thanks to the show.
“I’m still dumfounded by the whole thing," he explained, "I don’t feel I’ve done anything to deserve this recognition – I’ve got no talent.
“I think I was just in the right place at the right time – the only old grey-haired bloke Alan knew who didn’t have a job.”
The Apprentice 2011 begins tomorrow night at 9PM on BBC One.
