We were treated to a sneak peak of the first episode of The Apprentice 2011 earlier today and can reveal that Lord Sugar is tougher than ever with this year's candidates. As we previously reported, next Tuesday's first episode of The Apprentice 2011 will see the candidates selling fruit and veg...
It won't however be easy pickings as they're split into two and given £250 to buy fresh produce. They'll have to come up with some inventive ways to shift it for profit before the day is up.
Lord Sugar tells the group before setting off: "I want you to treat this first task as if it's your own business."
He warns them: "Here's something to note, this is an investment, and I want some return on my money."
Meanwhile talking about this year's new prize fund, Lord Sugar explains: "I'm going to inject £250,000 worth of cash and value into a business, your business, and you're going to run it.
"And I say you're going to run it because don't expect me to be doing all the work because I'm not looking for a "sleeping" partner. I'm not Saint Alan, the patron saint of bloody losers... You can look at it as a bit of an uncivil partnership, so to speak.
Plus, just one episode in and we're already getting a few memorable quotes. "I'm not a show pony or a one-trick pony, I'm not a jack-ass or a stubborn mule, and I'm definitely not a wild stallion that needs to be tamed," says 32-year-old Jim Eastwood. "I am the champion thoroughbred that this process requires."
Also be sure to look out for Vincent Disneur, a certain to become one of this year's characters.
