The Apprentice 2016 candidates deny hooking up off camera

The Apprentice 2016 candidates have dismissed rumours of on set romances between them.

Reports had suggested that a number of the candidates had got close during filming, with all of the contestants sharing a London house together.

According to the Daily Mirror newspaper, Jessica Cunningham was involved in some 'close negotiations' with Courtney Wood, while Grainne McCoy and Paul Sullivan were also 'doing business'.

A source told the tabloid: “Both couples would suddenly disappear and there were several times they’d be found upstairs under the covers, kissing.

“Production team researchers had to go into one of the girl’s rooms and tell the boys to move back to their own beds.”

Speaking after being fired last night, Jessica said of the reports: "Oh, don't believe everything you read in the papers unless it comes from the horse's mouth!"

She said: "You'll have to ask Courtney on that one… but no, we're just good friends."

Meanwhile, speaking to DigitalSpy, Grainne said of rumours linking her to Paul: "I did hear one or two rumours myself!

"Obviously they're going to pinpoint the four single people in the house, me and Paul being two of them. We got on really, really well, we all hung out and watched movies and stuff, but romances?

"I've been very much single all year and I'm going to keep it that way until 2017, until my husband comes and sweeps me off my feet. I haven't found him yet either!"

Courtney joins Alana Spencer in the final two with one of the pair winning Lord Sugar's £250,000 business investment this weekend.

The Apprentice 2016 airs Sunday night on BBC One from 9PM.
