The Apprentice 2016 interviews are here and the candidates crumble under the pressure tonight.

Five contestants currently remain but by the end of tonight just two will be left fighting for Lord Sugar's £250,000 business investment.

In this evening's show at 9PM on BBC One the remaining few candidates are given 24 hours to brush up on their business plans and face the formidable interview process.

Those left in the running are Alana Spencer, Courtney Wood, Frances Bishop, Grainne McCoy and Jessica Cunningham.

As is tradition on The Apprentice, in the penultimate show they get a grilling from four of Lord Sugar’s trusted advisors, Claude Littner, Claudine Collins, Mike Soutar and Linda Plant.

The next day, with plans in hand, it’s off to one of London’s highest offices - the spectacular Leadenhall Building in the Square Mile.

One by one, the Final Five are called in to face the music with Lord Sugar’s unremitting mentors. Armed with CV’s and business plans, the advisors show no mercy as plans are interrogated and characters questioned.

In one scene, Claudine is not impressed when she reads that Courtney admitted in his questionnaire that he would ‘fart in a lift full of supermodels’ if he knew he wouldn’t get caught.

But Courtney rises to the challenge when Mike asks him to design something new, and he creates a sweet dispenser with Lord Sugar’s face.

Frances leaves Linda shocked in their interview while Claude says of her business plan: “It looks like it’s been thrown together, it’s appalling”.

Claude is worried about Alana’s lack of willing to invest in her own company after she admits to saving her money instead. “It’s a commitment, and it’s got to be your commitment," he says.

Elsewhere, Jessica returns from her interview with Linda: “She ripped me to absolute shreds; I’ve left my dignity on the 42nd floor.”

Tune in to find out who will be the next candidate to hear Lord Sugar’s immortal words ‘You’re Fired’ on Thursday 15th December, 9pm on BBC One and BBC One HD.

And on BBC Two at 10PM straight after, join brand new host of You're Fired Rhod Gilbert alongside guests Apprentice winner 2012 Ricky Martin, Presenter & Apprentice fan Matt Edmonson and comedian Sara Pascoe for a fresh and unique take on the highlights of The Apprentice as well as the first exclusive interview with the fired candidates.
